A Brief Portfolio

Over the course of my career, I’ve designed everything from gift tags to truck wraps. It’s both strange and wonderful to see your work everywhere. One time, I decided to check out a new-to-me garden center. When I pulled into their parking lot, I realized I had designed their logo 8 years before. I’ve even had one of my logos turned into an ice sculpture.

About Me

I cut my teeth on design at one of the world’s largest tradeshow companies, where I learned that any available surface can be turned into a brand experience. But after making money for companies that already have tons of money, I struck out on my own, and I’ve been freelancing for the last 10+ years. It turns out that helping small and medium-sized businesses succeed feels great, so that’s what I pour my energies into.

These years have also made me scrappy, helping me squeeze every drop out of a limited budget. No longer do I have the corporate funds to commission a $60,000 hand-built balsa model of an installation that will ultimately end up in the trash. Instead, I can help your business build your mailing list or get eyeballs on your product—you know, the stuff that actually makes you money. Think of me as your art director and designer, outsourced.

My inspirations include Dorothy Draper, Richard Neutra, Louise Fili, Saul Bass, Peter Sellers, Alvin Lustig, Sister Corita Kent, Eero Saarinen, Alfred Hitchcock, The Stags, Slim Aarons, and the writings of Saki, Stevie Smith, E.M. Forster, and Edgar Allan Poe. You’ll notice that not all of these are graphic designers. That’s because I can find design inspiration in anything. Creativity is a process. Work the process, and we’ll come up with an extraordinary result.
